I like what Jason says here:
“Tech is a mature industry, and most of what is interesting these days has to do with bringing the things we learned from 2000-2015 about how to use software into places that have not yet modernized.”
It wasn’t the point of his post (he was talking about the diminishing returns of chasing magic tech breakthrough solutions) but this little aside really resonated for me.
It’s how I feel whenever the AI conversation comes up, for instance. Most of my work takes place in this space: catching organisations up to the now mature, better ways of working tech has incubated, that can enable any type of organisation to keep up with their service users’ expectations in a fast-changing world.
