The Goverati??
From ReadWriteWeb: (hat tip Ross)
What is the goverati? It is made up of people with first-hand knowledge of how the government operates, who understand how to use social software to accomplish a variety of government missions, and who want to use that knowledge for the benefit of all.
I think us UK folk should stick to Govwebbies in honour of dearly departed (but not dead) friends.

Goverati or perhaps the web workers who should unite and take over (whoops, Smiths). ‘Using that knowledge to benefit all’ then we have to devolve our know how out into the government organisation. Not leave it to a trusted Goverati. Campaigning within our depts to encourage web use (security considered) is as important as talking to the converted technocrati.

Hello, I'm Neil Williams. I'm a government web geek, a dad, a husband, a grower of veg, a keeper of hens and a lapsed comedy writer, roughly in that order.
If govweb honours Jeremy then I will stick with it. Govweb last year really got me going – helped me see there was a coherent way forward. Help me understand which bit siwll be difficult.
