Beware of the chickens…

Those of you who read this blog because of my work managing government websites and my related writings about digital media stuff may be in for a bit of a surprise.

Beware of the Chickens

…I am going to start writing about my pet chickens.

I intended to do so sooner, but am only now getting around to it.

And it’s one of my blogging new year’s resolutions to mix it up a bit more around here, with more frequent posts about personal/life interests alongside the geekery

So don’t say I didn’t warn you!

If you’re only interested in the digital media conversations, feel free to subscribe to the ‘Work’ category RSS instead of the main feed. But I promise to keep it interesting if you stick with me.

Yes, Chicken stories please, I’m thinking about getting a couple! How about a chicken hashtag on Twitter?

I’m looking forward to it! My husband has been talking about keeping some chickens in our backyard for about a year. I’d love to hear from someone who has done it first!

I’d love to see more chicken stories too. I’m thinking of keeping them myself in my Capitol Hill, Washington, DC back yard. Research tells me I’ll need a “Hobby Permit” from the city to make my mini-flock legal. My husband, while skeptical about this crazy scheme, is nevertheless amused.

Thanks all three of you.

Hobby Permit sounds like a wonderful bit of bureaucratic overkill.

Chicken hashtag is a pretty good idea – why not eh? Apart from anything else, I could do with learning more about hashtags. Will see what I can do.
